In Nashville, bourbon and whiskey are drinks enjoyed year-round, whether you’re sipping them neat or splashing them into fantastic seasonal cocktails. But for those who didn’t know, September is National Bourbon Heritage Month (ordained so by the U.S. senate!) so it seems like a great time to introduce some amazing bourbon cocktails for fall!

If you love an Old Fashioned, this is a great fall-themed twist on the classic! And as a plus, it uses infused bourbon, which is generally much cheaper than your fine sipping bourbons and great to use for party cocktails.

  • 2 oz. Cinnamon Bourbon
  • 2 splashes of Gary Reagan Orange Bitters
  • Muddled Orange, Lemon & Sugar cube in glass
  • Splash of Water (or Club)
  • Garnished with a Cinnamon Stick

New Fashioned Ginger

Another riff on the Old Fashioned, this cocktail is refreshing and looks as beautiful as the season’s foliage. Cut 3-4 thin pieces of ginger from the ginger root. Place on the bottom of empty whisky glass, and muddle for about 30 seconds (or until slightly broken apart) with a muddler or the back of a spoon. Remvoe the ginger, add the ice, and combine the ingredients below in a shaker. Add to the glass with an orange rind for garnish!

  • 2 ounces bourbon (I used Maker’s 46)
  • Club soda (optional)
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • Fresh ginger root
  • Orange rind
