A trendy neighborhood with a focus on artsy, urban flair, the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood just north of 12 South is emerging as a hot new area in Nashville. A little like the Gulch’s transformation from industrial urban eyesore, the recent influx of residents to Nashville has prompted local business owners and developers to invest in the area’s revitalization. As of earlier this year, there are already plans for a massive mixed-use development in the area, and Bongo Java and grocery stores are also planned to be erected within the near future.

Wedgewood-Houston is bordered by Wedgewood Avenue to the south, Houston Street on the north, Nolensville Road-Fourth Avenue on the east and Eighth Avenue South to the west. Greer Stadium, the Adventure Science Center and Fort Negley are on the neighborhood’s north side. To the south is the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. In the area called SoHo Commons, a cluster development with several homes for sale, the entire collection of homes were sold in short order at roughly $250, nearly half the price of nearby neighborhoods like 12 South.

What do you think? Is the Wedgewood Houston zip code of 37203 going to blow up over the next few years? The home prices are already beginning to soar!
